David Whitney is the assistant director of the UF Engineering Innovation Institute at the University of Florida Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering. He serves as co-chair of Greater Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce’s Innovation Gainesville 2.0 initiative.
Whitney teaches graduate and undergraduate students at UF. He contributes time and organizational leadership to the continued development of Greater Gainesville’s innovation economy and entrepreneurial ecosystem. He also provides financial support to greater Gainesville’s philanthropies involved in education, medical research, women’s causes and children’s activities.
“I am a lifelong learner who is keenly focused on making incremental improvements every day,” Whitney explained. “My mantra is ‘good better best, never let it rest; until your good is better, and your better is your best’. Therefore, my greatest accomplishment to date has been that I have not yet achieved my greatest accomplishment.”
