Duncan Kabinu, the founder of Gainesville Dev Academy, said “Our objective is to provide the necessary skills in technology, specifically in software development to residents allowing them a competitive advantage in a hot and trendy industry.”
Gainesville Dev Academy contributes to economic development of the community by training and providing qualified candidates in the tech industry. Their students have gone on to work for tech companies, pursue computer science degrees, or become entrepreneurs. They also work with nonprofits in town pro bono as related to their web development needs.
Kabinu is an Innovative Work Institute board member, a Gainesville Chamber Tech Council board member, an advisor at Santa Fe Health Information Technology, a board member for the Gainesville Area Innovation Network and a member of the Gainesville Chamber Human Capital Foundation.
