Theresa Beachy, executive director of Peaceful Paths Domestic Abuse Network Inc, lead the opening the new Dutton Schilling Housing Campus for survivors of domestic violence and their children. The campus model of services is the first of its kind in Florida and represents state-of-the art thinking around how services are provided to survivors.
“Addressing a critical issue like domestic violence and housing not only impacts the lives of the individuals we serve in shelters and extended supportive housing, but helps create a community environment where victims are supported and batterer accountability is high,” said Beachy.
Currently Beachy is treasurer of the Board of the Florida Coalition against Domestic Violence, serves as the domestic violence representative for the North Central Florida Alliance for the Homeless and Hungry Governance board and is newly elected to the Board of the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce.
